Things I Miss About Korea
  1. The subway and taxis (I never rode the bus). I just miss people watching on the train. Living in Bongwater let me see all the hot messes get woken up to stumble out because it was the last station.
  2. My friendsssssssssssssssssssss. Damn. I miss those crazy motherfuckers.
  3. The food! All the food. I swear to god, even the Outback tastes better in Korea.
  4. The men. No one is doing it for me in America like they did in Korea.
  5. Everyone (not everyone. But lots of people!) dressing nicely. I felt like such a slob over there but at least everyone else was nice to look at.
  6. Drinking everywhere at any given time. 7-Eleven isn’t nearly as cool in America.
  7. Shoppinggggggg. Even though I can find clothes that fit more easily here, I still prefer shopping in Korea. It was like thinspo. And cheap. Poor quality but affordable.
  8. Ondol. :(
  9. My bathroom. I don’t care what anyway says, I fucking love the “wet” bathrooms. LOVE THEM.
  10. Sex God.
  11. All the sites and scenery. Everyone talks about how pretty San Diego  is. Fuck that. Everything just looks brown and there are palm trees. It’s just not doing it for me. In Seoul, there were mountains! Namsan tower! Bongwater park! Temples! Cool buildings! Etcetera!
  12. All the places to hang out. Including malls, tons of parks, millions of bars, and billions of cafes and restaurants.
  13. Couple style.
  14. Selcas.
  15. Being able to look in the mirror 24/7 and not be judged.
  16. Those damn coffee sticks. I really miss those for some reason.
I might need to head to the H-Mart or Zion later to purchase some of those.
  17. Hearing K-pop ALL THE TIME. K-pop makes me happy.
  18. Bongwater. I know everyone likes to shit on Banghwa but that place holds a special place in my heart. Bongwater 4 Life.
  19. Hongdae, Jongno, Itaewon, Sinchon, Kondae, and even fucking Nowon. My favorite party places in the entire world.
  20. Face Shop, Nature Republic, Skinfood, Etude House…..*sigh*.
  21. My nail shop. It was expensive but is the best damn mani-pedi everrrrr.
  22. The convenience of atms. I could do anything with those bitches.
  23. My gym! So close. So convenient. So awesome.
  24. Love motels. Now, THOSE are convenient.
  25. All the Ho Bars.
  26. Art box, Kosney, and any other stationary store. So much cuteness.
  27. Having everything I needed within 1 block of my house. Seriously. Everything was there. Two 7-Elevens, restaurants, cafes, atms, gym, grocery store, subway, bus stop, seamstress, nail shops, cell phone store, community building (for trash stickers), doctors, and stationary shop. I miss that convenience.
  28. My students. They were so lovely.
  29. The view from my school.
  30. Walking. I never have the chance to walk now and in Korea it’s part of your everyday life.
  31. Hairbands. America does not have a single hairband worth a damn.
  32. Triangle kimbap. The tuna mayonaise was my absolute favorite. I ate those way too often but don’t care. I’m craving one right now.
  33. The coffee drinks. Sooooo many! And cheap. I only ever see Starbucks coffee drinks in convenience store and they cost an arm and a leg.
  34. Cheese popcorn at the movies. Yessssssss.
  35. Acupuncture. Cheap and effective.
  36. The Han river. It’s always so enjoyable.
  37. Jjimjilbangs. I pay $20 for a day pass at Aqua Day Spa for the tiniest sauna and jjimjilbang I’ve ever seen. It’s sad.

Ok, done for now.

Just for you Anon.

I changed my profile heading thingy.

PS- I had some revelations recently.

In Korea, especially during the last year, I was about to slap a bitch at least once a day. Seriously, every single day something would happen that would make me want to explode with rage or at least irritated the hell out of me. However, there were lots of other things that would happen daily that would make me incredibly happy so it helped balance things out.

In San Diego, I have not had a single negative experience. NOTHING. Oh wait. There was that one South African guy at the car dealership that made me scowl and that’s it. BUT. There is also nothing that has happened that made me think that at any future point will I ever tell someone “this really interesting/cool/good thing happened in San Diego” or “I saw this amazingly sweet site in San Diego.” When I tell people this they look at me as if I’m insane. “San Diego is AMAZING and there is SO MUCH TO DO AND SEE.” ………….No.

To me, there is nothing that stands out about SD. There is nothing special here. That’s not a bad thing but it doesn’t make me love it here like I loved Seoul. But Seoul often pissed me the hell off sometimes so I guess SD is ultimately the winner.

UGH. Alright, San Diego Bitches. I know you read my damn blog. Give me some places to go to and I promise to go there. I’ll even blog about it. Make me change my mind about this city!! Please?

Anon asked…

Where is SG???

Don’t worry, he’s still around.

I’ve met him at least once a week since I first met him.

The last time I saw him was last Friday night. But before I saw him…

I went to the hills in Itaewon. Checked out 86 and Queen and it was actually fun because there was room to move around. We also went to the other hill to go to my guilty pleasure…the Grand Ole’ Opry!

It’s by far the most American/patriotic place on the entire peninsula. If you go early, it’s pretty dead but around 10-11 then it really picks up. I’ve seen the dance floor completely packed with people line dancing in sync. Some of them can really get down so it’s fun to watch. Most people that go there are in the military so they all seem to know each other and people are pretty friendly.

My favorite part of the whole deal comes at midnight. Every single night at midnight they begin by playing Lee Greenwood’s “God Bless the USA” which people always sing along too. It’s followed by the national anthem where *everyone* should stand up and most people sing. It’s a really cool moment. Like I said, almost everyone there is in the military so they’re all standing at attention and..yeah. It’s sounds so corny but it’s one of those moments where I do really feel proud to be an American.

And then we walked outside and saw one of the ‘working ladies’ bend over to pick something up and I saw her snatch. lol Oh, Itaewon. After living it up on the hills, I made the trek to see SG.

He had bought me my favorite beer again so we drank that. He also suggested I take a shower because I reeked of the Opry. haha We had sex and it was great! Except…I had had a lot to drink by that point and was getting sleepy. Everything was good, we were both having a good time, I was doing my thing, but then we switched positions. The next thing I know he says, “are you asleep?!” I played it off like “No! I was just enjoying it.” I totally fell asleep. lolololol I couldn’t help it! As soon as my head hits a pillow I can pass the fuck out if I’ve had enough to drink. Oopsies. haha

We woke up the next morning and I had cum for breakfast again. It surprises me how quickly he can recover because we were able to jump right into a morning fuck session. It was nice.

He gave me a toothbrush. Whoa now. Things are starting to get serious. lol

I haven’t talked to him this week but that’s the norm. It’s magic time right now anyway.

Speaking of fucking magic time…I met up with the Mexican on Sunday. We had dinner and drinks and he really wanted me to come stay with him. But it was fucking magic time!!! FUCK. That sucked.

The Jap called me this week too but it’s magic time. FUCK.

So, I don’t know if I’ll see SG this weekend or not. 1) He hasn’t contacted me yet so he might be busy. 2) It might still be stupid ass magic time. 3) I’m going to Muuido this weekend for a friend’s birthday.

We’ll see. You never know what can happen.

My new favorite store.

Found a really cool used clothing store today in Edae. The store seems big and open compared to other shops in the area and the owner is positively adorable.

I’ve been to similar stores in Seoul but they’re always just…meh. Nothing special and I can never find anything I like. Those stores usually smell weird too and that’s always a turn off for me. Plus, the clothes are waaaaaaaay overpriced and not worth it at all.

Anyway! This place was nice and had all kinds of cool shit that I was into. The owner told me that she gets 80-90% from Japan which probably explains why I like her store more than other second hand shops. The clothes/accessories/housewares look more vintage’y instead of just used old crap. She also chooses really unique pieces that you won’t find anywhere else. AND! The prices are very reasonable. I got a cool sweater dress for 15,000 won. I also bought a couple of things that will go into my new apartment in ~*San Diego*~. She told me that if you pay in cash then you can get a “small gift” which I think means discount.

I learned that she has been in business for 2 years but she has only recently moved into the current shop. I think she’s been in the new location for only a couple of months. She’s awesome. Her store is awesome. If you wanna look awesome, then you should go and buy loads of stuff from HYUN

There is a map on the fb page but in case you’re lazy…Ehwa station. Exit 2/3 and walk towards the university. Take a left *before* the Baskin Robbins. Walk straight down that road and pass Holly’s coffee. It should be the 4th shop on the right once you pass Holly’s and it will say “hyun” in hangul.

I will definitely be going back!

Lotte Mall at Gimpo Airport…

opened today. THIS IS MAJOR.

If you’re not familiar with Gimpo…it’s pretty ghetto. If you walk out of the subway station, it’s really quiet. Once you walk 5-10 minutes to the important places (E-Mart, CGV, etc…) then it starts to pick up and there’s usually quite a few people there. Especially on the weekends. It gets a little cray cray but not out of control.

But then the Lotte Mall opened. Say whaaaaaaaaaaaaat.

If you don’t know, Gangseo-gu has…well. Not much of anything. There’s the Airport, the Han river, a few things around Balsan and Gayang, lots of trees, and that’s about it.

But now! It has the Lotte Mall.

It is “the nation’s largest mall park facility, providing the ‘One Stop Lifestyle’ space with shopping mall, supermarket, cinema, hotel, food, cultural space, and various types of theme parks for leisure purposes.”

At least it sounds ballin’ according to the Floor Guide Book I found near information.

Let’s see what we have…

Lotte Mart. This place was crowded as all get out so I will have to check that out another time. I hope it has things that Emart doesn’t have but I don’t have much faith in that.

Pretty much every beauty store you would want. The Body Shop, Olive Young, Missha, TonyMoly, Nature Republic, Etude House. BUT. I did NOT see Skin Food. :( Maybe I just missed it though.

Lots of clothing stores but the only ones I cared about were H&M, Uniqlo, Spicy Color, ABC Mart, Zara, although there is a bunch of other crap.

Food places to note: Kraze Burger, Smoothie King, TGI.Fridays, Auntie Anne’s, Natur, Angel-in-Us (1&2), Jamba Juice, Lotteria (barf), Lynn’s Cupcakes, and Mad For Garlic. There is a loooooooooooot of other food stuff but they’re Korean, not ringing any bells for me, or it was in the food court which does not have any restaurants listed. Who knows what might be hiding in there.

There is a Youngpoong Bookstore. That’s cool because eff’ing D-Cube City doesn’t have a single bookstore. Not impressed with that so I’m glad Lotte Mall stepped their game up.

Upstairs (above the Lotte Mart), you will find the Digital Park. I didn’t go in here but I did see the big ass Toys ‘R’ Us. On the map, it looks like they have Apple, Samsung, Camera&Accessories, Computers&Accessories, Appliances, Lots of toys, you name it.

The Lotte Department store has all of the name brand expensive crap that I don’t really care about. It looks like there are 5 floors of expensive goodness.

Also, don’t forget about the new Lotte Cinema!! That’s awesome. The CGV at Gimpo is a little weenie.

Oh, yeah, and there is some nature shit outside…or something. It was cold and I didn’t feel like going out.

But seriously, there is so much more stuff there than what I mentioned. It’s really awesome especially for the part of town that it is in.

Newsflash

The airport railroad finally opened at Gongdeok. 아싸. This is major.

Move over boys, I want the gurlz.

Went out last night but wasn’t attracted to a single guy. What’s wrong with me?! I definitely need to hit up the girl bars soon.

Which reminds me…anyone know of good places in Seoul for the ladiezzzz?

I know of the park, Labrys, and Pink Hole but I want some more suggestions. I’ve also been to an owl bar which is owned by a lesbian couple but it’s not necessarily a girl bar. Does anyone know what I’m talking about?

Best Thanksgiving Ever?

Possibly.

Went to the Seoul Millennium Hilton for our reservation at 6pm and dropped 80k on the buffet and some wine. It was pretty delicious but it wasn’t Mama’s!

Then we hit the casino. Drank free beer and played roulette until 2am. O_O I felt like hell yesterday but it was totally worth it. It was my first time playing but my dinner ended up being free and I even walked out…

300,000 won richer, bitches!

your life in korea sounds really insane. can i ask you, what is the craziest place you have ever hooked up with a korean man? also, what is your top dating advice for foreigners who want to date korean men? thank u!
Anonymous

First Question! What what! I got ridiculously excited about my first Ask. It does say Ask Me Anything and I mean it….nothing is off limits!

Yeah, my life is strange. I really do ask myself “is this real life??” waaaaaay too often.  Roll with me, boo! And weird shit will happen to you too.

Unfortunately, my hook ups with Korean guys haven’t been anywhere too crazy. Lame!! It really is a shame because I’m a total exhibitionist and love to get it on in as many places as possible.

Let’s rewind to High School and University. I dated a guy for 4.5 years and he was the one I lost my virginity too. He was really kinky and adventurous in bed and I totally give him credit for making me an awesome lover. Anyway, if we wanted to bang we had to be super secret about it which meant we often had to do it wherever we could. Oh, and there was another boyfriend before him where we would also fool around in as many places as possible (but not sex).

Places that I boned in America:

  • Outside on a private hill. BEST.SEX.EVER. We made love all afternoon and into the evening hours. It was beautiful.
  • In a truck all over Tennessee. lol I have had truck love almost as many times as I’ve had sex in a bed.
  • Blockbuster parking lot in the middle of the afternoon in my car.
  • Got busted by the cops for hooking up in a strip mall parking lot and by the lake. I was so young that they just made us leave with a warning.
  • Barn. Whipped cream was involved.
  • Cemetery (+ mary jane)
  • Boat.
  • Boat dock in a boat that didn’t belong to us.
  • In the lake.
  • Movie theater.
  • On the couch with his mom sitting on the floor in front of us.
  • Church van on the way back from some church event.
  • Church.
And, I think that’s it?!
Ok, now in Korea with some K-boyzzzz:
  • In a resturant bathroom near Hoegi (it has a big ass crab on the roof).
  • In my building next to the elevator. But he was freaking out over CCTV the whole time.
  • Alleys all over Seoul. We just couldn’t wait!
  • DVD bangs everywhere.
  • Love motels everywhere.
  • Definitely got fingered at a bar in Jongno before stumbling to a motel with a “baseball player”.
  • Lip to Nip action in bars allllllllll over Seoul. My nipple is pierced and when guys find out they always want to see it. The next instinct is to immediately put their mouth on it.
So, as you can see, I am clearly lacking in fun places to bang. I need to fix that STAT!
I just generally take guys back to my crib or we head to a motel. I like my place though because it’s just more comfortable. However, when I was first banging Kboyzzzzzz, I refused to let them into my home. It was like my sacred place and I didn’t need some sleazeball all up in my stuff. That obviously went out the window a long time ago though.
I will say that one of the craziest places I got it on was at a guy’s house. But it wasn’t his house it was his fucking family’s house. I don’t know why we ended up there because there would have been major fucking problems if they caught us there together. We had to sneak in. We had to be super quiet. I couldn’t even walk out into the hall to go to the bathroom. He had to move an entire shelf in his closet to open a super secret door to the bathroom. And in the morning, we had to do sneak out like we were in some kind of crime movie. I remember him walking me to the subway and lifting up his shirt and saying “Look, no panty!!”. That was a weird night.
Anyway, I’m kind of ashamed I don’t have anything crazier to add. :’(
Next question! I’ve seen other bloggers get this question before and they always say something along the lines of “Korean men are just men! You should do the same with any guy from your own country! Stop being racist!” Or whatever. But…that’s pretty much all there is to it. However! Don’t fret because I love to give you, dear reader, what you want. So, I will try my very best to answer your question in as much detail as possible. I’m going to address your second question in a post all of it’s own. Actually, I might make a few different posts. Stay tuned for…
  1. How to Meet a Korean Man
  2. How to Bang a Korean Man
  3. How to Date a Korean Man
7/11

Went to 7/11 and of course 7/11 was working.

I banged 7/11 a couple of times over the past year. He’s friendly. Speaks English…kind of. Cute. Looks MUCH younger than his actual age.  Anyway, that happened.

And then!

I spotted a ring. He said he didn’t know what it was. Motherfucker, I know a couple ring when I see it. So, no more naked times with 7/11. Just friendly chit chat.

Some time later, the ring was gone and he was back into my bed.

Then the ring came back and has been there for some time.

I forced a friend to go talk to him while I lurked outside. Turns out that this bitch has a girlfriend and that they have been meeting for 500 days.

What?!

500 days?! I knew there was a girlfriend around but I didn’t know it was like THAT. I mean, I probably wouldn’t have done anything differently, but still. Poor girl. Her boyfriend sucks.

We still flirt though.
